Puppies

As a rare breed small in numbers, we have a breeding programme with respected and knowledgeable breeders from across the world to ensure that the breed continues to be healthy and fit for purpose. It is highly recommended that all puppies are from fully health tested parentage, and any members of our club are expected to follow our Code of Ethics to include the following tests:

  • X-rayed for Hip Dysplasia by a qualified veterinary surgeon and that all plates MUST be submitted for hip scoring under the KC/BVA Scheme.
  • Eye tested under the KC/BVA Scheme.
  • Tested for Degenerative Myleopathy (DM) under KC/CEDCGB approved laboratories.
  • It is ADVISED that all dogs be tested for Long Coat (LC).

Whilst the above tests form the back bone of any breeding decisions, they are also considered in hand with other factors, including temperament, type and soundness, with any final breeding decisions closely following our Breed Standard.

There is quite frequently long waiting lists for our breed, however, occasionally puppies become available to the right homes.

If you would like to find out more information, or to be added to our waiting lists, please contact our secretary via email (cedcgb@outlook.com), who will put you in contact with any recommended breeders that currently have litters available.
